Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Truck’s Delonghi X6000 driverless billet dump truck “started operation” at the Bayi Steel Plant, making Bayi Steel the first steel company in the northwest region to put driverless vehicles into use. For the transportation scenario of Bayi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., the Automotive Engineering Research Institute deployed a self-developed autonomous driving system on the X6000. The system has functions such as path planning, obstacle avoidance parking, reversing with a trailer, and cloud-controlled dispatching. After two weeks of testing, the full-process autonomous driving operation from loading to unloading has been implemented at the Bayi Iron and Steel Plant.

The unmanned vehicles put into use this time mainly drive on the 2-kilometer internal road between the 150-ton production line and the steel rolling group of the Bayi Iron and Steel Plant. The vehicle is equipped with radar, cameras, automatic sensors and other equipment. By simply setting various values in advance, you can accurately receive information at any time, capture the latest driving conditions, and make accurate judgments to ensure driving safety.

“The increase in driverless vehicles not only reduces the company’s logistics costs, enables more efficient management, and improves safety factors, but also improves the company’s digital and intelligent construction level.” Production Technology of Bayi Iron and Steel Logistics and Transportation Branch Office Director Wu Xusheng said.

Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Truck implements the important instructions of the “Four New” and is customer-centered. In recent years, we have been continuously researching cutting-edge technologies, exploring autonomous driving business models, meeting various autonomous driving scenarios, and constantly making breakthroughs in market implementation.
